Manchester United striker Robin van Persie took in an Eredivisie game over the weekend alongside Louis van Gaal.
The Mirror says eyebrows were raised when RVP and Van Gaal arrived at the GelreDome Stadium in Arnhem to watch Vitesse's clash with Ajax.
The United striker is currently undergoing a rehabilitation programme as he recovers from a knee injury at the Dutch FA's base in Zeist.
But he began his career with Ajax's bitter rivals Feyenoord and so it was a surprise when he turned up in Arnhem given that the Amsterdam club would clinch the title if they won and other results went in their favour.
Van Persie has spoken glowingly about Van Gaal, who has a huge managerial pedigree.
