Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is out of the derby with Manchester City.

Van Persie has missed the last five games after picking up an ankle injury during the 2-1 defeat to Swansea on February 21.

United boss Louis van Gaal said: "Robin van Persie is still injured.

"We have a process. He has to go to the final football coach before he comes into my group and he is not there yet.

"He is still not in my group. He is not available (against Aston Villa)."
