Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney's groin injury was collected while on England duty, it has been revealed. The Daily Mail says Rooney's mystery groin injury was picked up during the final minutes of England's 1-1 draw with Montenegro last Tuesday.
Rooney, who missed Saturday's 1-0 win at Sunderland and today's defeat in the FA Cup at Chelsea, complained of some discomfort in the dressing room.
Manchester United had kept Rooney's injury quiet until the teams were announced for yesterday's FA Cup quarter-final replay at Stamford Bridge.
