Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney accepts Cristiano Ronaldo's departure has forced him to improve his game.

Rooney admits he still needs to step up his game ahead of the World Cup in South Africa, particularly now Cristiano Ronaldo is no longer at Old Trafford.

He said: "I've still got a lot to improve on and a lot to learn.

"I can score more goals. I need to score more goals, particularly now Ronaldo's gone."
