Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney is grateful to Miodrag Dzudovic for the Montenegro defender's push to have his ban overturned.

Rooney is out of the opening three group games of the Euros after being sent off for kicking Dzudovic.

Dzudovic has reached out to authorities to defend Rooney and the striker said: "He sent an email to the FA saying the punishment was too harsh. That's nice because he didn't have to."
