Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney should be ready for England's World Cup qualifiers next week.

The Daily Mail says Rooney is expected to be fit for England's crucial World Cup qualifiers against Montenegro and Poland despite missing Manchester United's Champions League draw with Shakhtar Donetsk on Wednesday night.

Rooney gave England boss Roy Hodgson, due to reveal his squad on Thursday, a scare when he was revealed to have suffered a swollen shin after clashing with United and England teammate Danny Welbeck in training.

But United manager David Moyes believes Rooney could even recover in time for Saturday's trip to Sunderland.
