Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney could lose £50 MILLION in divorce proceedings, it has been revealed.

The Mirror says Coleen Rooney would be in line for a £50million divorce payout, thanks to a landmark settlement won by former WAG Karen Parlour six years ago.

When her marriage to former Arsenal player Ray ended, even though there was no allegation of infidelity, Karen got their assets split, maintenance awarded and one third of his future earnings.

The precedent means that Wayne, who is negotiating a £130,000-a-week contract with Manchester United, would have to pay Coleen more than £40,000-a-week for the rest of his playing days, if they split up. That could be worth around £20million.

She would also get half his fortune, half their assets and earnings-based maintenance for baby son Kai.

Lawyer Amanda McAlister said: "The Parlour case means footballers will be paying out big awards."
