Manchester United ace Wayne Rooney has slammed Franz Beckenbauer over his "kick and rush" taunts.

Many in the England camp believe it's a ruse from Beckenbauer in the event his Germany must face England in the round of 16.

Rooney rapped: "We don't listen to him. We know how we play and it's not kick and run."

Rooney slammed the cocky Germans for being so arrogant after beating Australia 4-0.

He added: "It's how you finish a tournament and not how you start."
