Manchester United striker Michael Owen says Roy Hodgson is the right manager for Liverpool.
Owen has added his voice to the chorus of approval at the appointment of Roy Hodgson at his old club Liverpool.
The striker said: "He has obviously had a fantastic career culminating in him doing really, really well by getting Fulham to the final of the Europa League. That was probably one of his best achievements.
"He is experienced and you would probably say that at the moment more than ever Liverpool need someone to come in and steady the ship. It has been turbulent all time over the last couple of years.
"It is going to take a lot of sorting out because not only has Benitez left but there are going to be a lot of people who have left further down the tiers, reserve team managers or whoever it might be.
"So there is going to rebuilding work to be done there. It is the right time for someone to come in and steady the ship and he has been there and done it."
