Manchester United striker Kiko Macheda has made his Italy U21 debut.

Italy coach Pierluigi Casiraghi handed Macheda a first-half run in last night's 3-2 defeat to Russia.

The 17 year-old wasn't given the full 90 minutes as he's likely to be needed by United this weekend for their Premiership opener against Birmingham City.
