Man Utd striker Falcao admits being big Van Nistelrooy fan

Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao admits he was a big fan of Ruud van Nistelrooy growing up.

At United, Falcao's finishing has been likened to the Dutchman by long time coaching staff.

When asked by Inside United which Reds players had caught his eye while he watched the English league from afar as a player in South America and Europe, the Colombian said: "I always admired Ruud van Nistelrooy in my position. He was a star attraction for me."

The striker went on to namecheck a number of other Reds stars he looked up to.

"Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes too, for their style of play," he said. "It is much admired by players from all over the world. David Beckham, of course. I couldn't fail to mention him, as he has opened up the routes between continents as a footballer. They are legends who press all the right hero buttons. Eric Cantona as well - he was a very exciting and entertaining player to watch."
