Man Utd striker Chicharito: I didn't want Real Madrid bench role

Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez admits his loan spell with Real Madrid was frustrating.

Chicharito enjoyed a late season run of goals last term, but it wasn't enough to earn a permanent deal.

“I learned a lot during my season at Real Madrid. It helped me find myself again as a player," the Mexican striker said.

“The goal against Atlético was a relief because it was a difficult year with very few opportunities. It was a release.

"I had to warm the bench a lot. It was massively frustrating because I didn't feel important."
