Manchester United have struck terms with Crewe Alexandra for Nick Powell.

The Daily Mail says United have agreed a £4m deal for Crewe attacking midfielder Powell, 18.

Powell's marvellous goal helped his team overcome Cheltenham 2-0 in the League Two play-off final.

Around £2m of the fee is paid up front and the rest will follow, based on the teenager's appearances.

It is possible the youngster will go back to Crewe on loan for a season and he is thought to be anxious to secure he will be playing regular football next season.
