Manchester United have kept in constant contact with Cristiano Ronaldo while he has been away from the club this summer, it has been revealed.

Ronaldo has been recovering from ankle surgery under the watch of personal physio Antonio Gaspar, who has confirmed he's kept in regular contact with United. No appointment has been scheduled for Ronaldo to meet with United's medical staff, though Gaspar has indicated he expects it to be in the first week of August.

Ronaldo isn't expected to get back on the training pitch until late September.
