Zlatan Ibrahimovic admits he still doesn't know why Pep Guardiola offloaded him at Barcelona.
The Manchester United striker spent just one season at the Nou Camp under the Manchester City manager after arriving from Inter Milan in 2009.
Ibrahimovic played for Barça in the 2009/10 season before heading to AC Milan on loan and then joining the Italian giants permanently in the summer of 2011.
The Swedish superstar has explained that Guardiola called him every day to get him to join the Catalan giants before the pair inexplicably fell out.
"I learned a lot at Barcelona, both on and off the pitch. I learned that in football any situation can change in just 24 hours," Ibrahimovic told Fox Sports Italia.
"The problem wasn't with me, it was with him [Guardiola], and he never came to terms with it. I don't know what his problem was with me.
"First he called me every day to get me and from one day to the next I didn't play anymore."
Ibrahimovic admits whenever he comes up against a team coached by Guardiola, it spurs him on to perform at an even higher level.
He added: "When I play against his team, it's something that motivates me, it gives me adrenaline.
"It is normal, after what's happened.
"I'm using it as something positive, not negative. But it is something always in the back of my mind."
