Man Utd star Rooney: De Gea fantastic against Chelsea
Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney hailed David de Gea for his performance in their draw at Chelsea.
The Spaniard has come under fire this season after some dubious displays since his £18m summer signing from Atletico Madrid.
But the 21-year-old pulled off two world-class saves to deny Juan Mata and Gary Cahill winners for Chelsea in the 3-3 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
“David made some fantastic late saves,” said Rooney, whose two converted penalties sparked United’s fightback from 3-0 down.
“He is still a young lad and has a lot to learn. He has made some great saves against Chelsea and I think he is going to be one of the best.”
