Wayne Rooney took his England scoring tally to 50 goals on Tuesday night.
In his 107th cap for the Three Lions, the Manchester United striker converted from the penalty spot late in his side's 2-0 Euro2016 qualifying win over Switzerland at Wembley.
Rooney had drawn level with the great Sir Bobby Charlton on 49 goals when firing home from 12 yards in Saturday's 6-0 win over San Marino in Serravalle and has now broken the record at English football's headquarters in London.
The moment came in the 84th minute before Rooney blew a kiss to the sky to mark the occasion.
Earlier, Harry Kane had put England ahead as they continue their perfect run in the qualifying campaign for next summer's UEFA tournament in France.
