Mum was influencing Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo's amazing tantrum on Sunday, it has been revealed.

The Daily Star says Ronaldo threw his derby day strop for the benefit of his mum it emerged last night.

Dolores Aveiro was in a VIP seat for Manchester United's home clash with Manchester City on Sunday.

And she saw her superstar son throw a tantrum after manager Sir Alex Ferguson subbed him early in the second half.

Sources in Ronaldo's native Portugal claimed last night the 24-year-old probably reacted the way he did for her.
