Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard felt Monday night's 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Old Trafford was a very 'tense' contest.
Neither side took risks to win the match, which spurned very few chances, prompting Lampard to suggest both the Blues and Red Devils were fearful of dropping points early in the campaign.
"It was tense. People talk about big decider games early in the season and neither team wants to lose. It was a bit of a stalemate in those terms," he told Sky Sports 1.
"We worked hard to stop the threat they've got up front and they worked hard to stop us."
