Man Utd skipper Vidic: World will stop for Manchester derby

Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic says the world will stop to watch the derby against Manchester City. Vidic believes the whole of Planet Football will be tuning in to watch a contest that could prove to be pivotal in the battle for the Premier League title.

"This is a derby game between the two top teams in the English league," said the Serbian powerhouse. "It would be ridiculous if you weren't excited by it.

"The whole world is looking forward to United against City, not just Manchester and not just the rest of England.

"The Manchester derby reminds me of the game in Belgrade when Red Star play Partizan.

"That match is a contest of passion and you know that if you come out on top then you have taken a big step towards winning the league.

"Red Star against Partizan is an incredible game. You know exactly what it means to the club and the fans.

"And it is the same in Manchester. When you have a club near by who have made big signings, put a lot of money in and reached the Champions League, it makes you want to react.

"This is the biggest derby in England and it reminds me so much of Belgrade.

"On the pitch, you hear the fans singing for every single minute of the game. The noise is incredible and you know that you cannot lose."
