Manchester United skipper Nemanja Vidic is struggling to be fit for the start of next season.

Vidic will not play again this season and may not even be fit for Manchester United's pre-season tour of Asia in July.

United manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "He's on schedule but it's for the beginning of next season.

"There's no point trying to rush him for the end of the season. As for the summer tour, I'm not sure.

"It could well become a target for him."
