Manchester United captain Nemanja Vidic has welcomed praise from former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

During United's dodgy spell, which also included a home defeat by West Bromwich Albion when Vidic was injured, Ferguson was moved to say: "What is important and key to the team is if Vida stays fit."

Mail on Sunday: "It was really something nice to hear Sir Alex say that kind of thing. He was my manager for eight years."
