Man Utd skipper Rooney pushing to make Everton clash

Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is expected to be fit for Saturday's clash with Everton.

The 29-year-old has struggled with an ankle injury suffered in training with England.

The Daily Mail says it is understood he will be available to come up against his former club when Manchester United return to Barclays Premier League action at the weekend.

It will come as a huge boost to United manager Louis van Gaal that his captain is not seriously injured.
