Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has discussed Memphis Depay's first season in England.

The Dutchman was named in Holland's starting XI for their friendly with England on Tuesday and Rooney - working as a pundit on ITV - was honest about his teammate's form.

“He will be pleased to start," he said. “He's had a stop/start season for Manchester United.

"This is a chance to show the quality he's got."
