Manchester United captain Gary Neville has hit back at critics who expected the club to "fall to pieces" after the departures of Carlos Tevez and Cristiano Ronaldo in the summer.
Neville told manutd.com: It is the best start we've made in a long time, but you'd think from listening to people that we're almost struggling.
"Some people have the perception that, as a couple of players have left, United have fallen to pieces.
"We can't do a lot about people's perceptions other than to win football matches and shut them up by doing things we've done for a long time."
