Man Utd skipper Neville adamant he'll play on

Manchester United captain Gary Neville is adamant he will play Premiership football again.

"I genuinely believe, in my heart of hearts, with the way that I felt at the end of last season, that I will come back this season," Neville, 33, told The Times.

"I've trained through the summer and I genuinely feel I'll be fine, but until you've gone out there and done it, it means nothing."

Neville has been busy acquiring his coaching badges with a view to a possible career in management, but he is not ready to retire, even if he is likely to face a race against time to win a new contract with his present deal due to expire next summer.

"I've got to go and do the very best I can to [stay] at Manchester United because that's the only place where I really want to play football," he said. "Hopefully I can keep [retirement] at bay for another couple of years or so."
