Manchester United captain Patrice Evra has assured manager Sir Alex Ferguson he can handle Sunday's FA Cup clash at Liverpool. It will be the first time the teams have met since the Luis Suarez race row erupted on the same ground in October.

But the French defender is not worried and has told Fergie he can handle the backlash. A source told the Daily Star: "Patrice knows what to expect but he has the experience to deal with it.

"He is determined it won't affect him and wants to do his best to help United reach the next round."
