Manchester United signing Fred has paid tribute to former club Shakhtar Donetsk and their fans.

Fred signed for United before the World Cup.

And he posted to social media yesterday: "I want to thank @fcshakhtar for the 5 years I've lived here. No doubt it was wonderful.

"I want to thank my colleagues, the board, the coaches, the technical committees and all those involved. I especially want to thank the fans who have always supported me and cheered for me. It was an honor to be part of this story! Thank you Shakhtar!"
