Man Utd in shirt sponsorship talks with Aon

Manchester United are in talks with insurance giants Aon over a new shirt sponsorship agreement.

The Sunday Mirror says Aon have been lined up as Manchester United's new shirt sponsors in a deal that will see the Premier League champions bank £20m-a-year.

And the company name could be emblazoned on the famous red kit as early as next season - if current sponsors AIG are forced by the American government to pull the plug early on their four-year agreement with the club.

Aon, who also specialise in risk management, have been in talks with United since it was announced that AIG would not be extending their agreement with the club when it expires at the end of next season.

An insider said: "Talks have gone well and it's 90 per cent certain that Aon will be United's new shirt sponsor. Whether it happens next season or the year after is yet to be decided."
