Manchester United's share price has jumped after the sacking of Louis van Gaal.
The Mirror says executive vice chairman Ed Woodward yesterday announced in a statement to the NYSE that United would be removing Van Gaal.
Reports of his departure saw the value of shares in Manchester United PLC rise 2.4 per cent in early session trading on Monday's stock exchange, even briefly increasing in value by over 4 per cent.
Share prices had settled at $17.04 (£11.72) by the day's end, a 1.43 per cent increase on Friday's position.
