Man Utd set to triple Fabiano wages

The News of the World says United have watched the Brazilian ace, Spain's top scorer and Cristiano Ronaldo's big rival for the Golden Boot, on several occasions.

They went on red alert, however, when Fabiano's agent met with Real Madrid officials this week.

The 27-year-old is one-third owned by Sevilla and two-thirds by Global Sports Investment, with the complexities of his contract meaning he could be available for just £8m.

A move would triple Fabiano's £15,000-a-week Sevilla salary.
