Man Utd set to swoop for Man City’s Richards
Submitted by Andrew Slevison on Mon, 11/30/2009 - 04:06
Manchester United are set to make a move for Manchester City defender Micah Richards.
Recent reports suggest that the Red Devils are ready to bid for the 21-year old who has fallen out of favour at Eastlands after signing a five-and-a-half-year deal with the club in early 2008.
Richards was destined for big things at City when he joined the senior squad back in 2005 but has failed to live up to expectations in recent times.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has been keen on Richards for quite some time and the fact he is having problems with current right-backs Gary Neville and Rafael Da Silva makes a potential deal a reality.

I agree with Clustim,a few years ago i would have really wished man utd bought richards, but obviously not now.We have rafael, fabio,o'shea, neville, brown,de laet and even hargreaves can occasionally play there.Whats the use i buying such a player that will be crushed by competition for rb at man utd?
With his natural talent,a coach like SAF and a good team like manU,he could become an excellent player
The word is that his early success went to his head, that he believed all the hype and he took his eye off the ball in all senses of the phrase.
Would SAF want to risk adding a rotten apple to the barrel? I doubt it!
