Manchester United sent scouts to cast an eye over Diego Rolan in France on the weekend.
French radio station RMC reports that Jose Mourinho had a club official present at Bordeaux's 1-0 win over Nantes on Sunday in which Rolan scored a first-half winner.
Despite Mourinho admitting United were unlikely to do any further transfer action in the final few days of the summer window, it is understood that Rolan, 23, was watched closely by the Red Devils.
Also in attendance at the Nouveau Stade de Bordeaux to watch the Uruguayan attacker were scouts from Bayern Munich, Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Rolan has been with Bordeaux since 2013, scoring 30 goals, and comes with an asking price of at least £17million.
