Manchester United are watching Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian has long been linked with Premier League clubs, including Liverpool, Newcastle United and Arsenal.
However, BILD says United boss Louis van Gaal had scouts posted to see Firmino in action on the weekend against Hamburg SV.
Despite being tied to Hoffenheim to 2017, Firmino has an agreement with management he can leave this summer for a set fee of €30 million.
His agent, Roger Wittmann, revealed: "During the contract extension it had been firmly instructed that a change in the winter (market) was not an issue.
"We had agreed that Roberto only can go in the summer when Hoffenheim agrees a fee with another club."
