Manchester United are maintaining a watching brief for Schalke striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar.
The Dutch ace has been a long-term target for United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson posted brother Martin Ferguson, United's chief scout, to watch Huntelaar last Friday. The striker scored his 14th goal of the season in Schalke's win at Hertha Berlin.
