Man Utd’s Rooney happy Real Madrid out of Europe

Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney admits he's happy to see Real Madrid eliminated from the Champions League.

Real went out to Lyon at the same time United were stuffing AC Milan.

It means there is no dream final for Cristiano Ronaldo at Madrid's Bernabeu home.

Rooney said: "Real Madrid have gone out, which has got rid of one hurdle.

"You know if you got to the final and faced them in their own stadium, it would always be difficult."
