Federico Macheda is close to joining Doncaster Rovers on loan from Manchester United.
The 22-year old Italian striker is way down the pecking order at Old Trafford and could be sent to Keepmoat to play under Paul Dickov who is very keen on his services.
Doncaster are battling in front of goal, having scored just five goals from five Championship outings, and Dickov feels he could use some extra reinforcements.
Macheda has struggled to establish himself with United following his promising start and has subsequently been sent for loans with Sampdoria, QPR and Stuttgart over the past few years.
