Argentina legend Mario Kempes feels that the loss of Javier Hernandez from the Mexico team for the Copa America is a significant one. 'Chicharito' has been given a month off by Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson so will miss the South American tournament which commences today.
Hernandez, fresh off helping Mexico to their CONCACAF Gold Cup triumph, has been labeled a quality player by Kempes who feels his absence may take slightly away from the competition which will be held in Argentina.
"He is a player I admire and will be a big loss from the Copa America," Kempes told The Sun.
"I saw him at the World Cup in 2010 for the first time. I'd heard a lot of good things about him but he still surprised me in South Africa.
"When he moved to England as a young player he demonstrated not only his ability to score wonderful goals, he has also won the hearts and earned the respect of the people of Manchester and England.
"That is an amazing thing for somebody so young."
