Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez was more focused on getting three points for his country than scoring three goals in yesterday's CONCACAF Gold Cup opener. 'Chicharito' netted a hat-trick as Mexico exploded in the second half to dispatch El Salvador 5-0 in the Group A clash in Arlington, Texas and the Red Devils star said it was more important for El Tri to kick off the tournament with a victory rather than him getting on the scoresheet.
"The more important thing is the three points," Hernandez said after the match.
"I don't care if I score or not but the important thing is getting the win. If I score, then I score."
Mexico next take on Cuba, who lost 5-0 to Costa Rica, at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte on Thursday.
