Man Utd's Hernandez delighted with US support

Manchester United recruit Javier Hernandez said he was delighted with the amount of support the match against the MLS All-Stars received from US fans.

The Mexico international made his debut for the Red Devils on Wednesday night, scoring late in the 5-3 win over the All-Stars at Houston's Reliant Stadium in front of more than 70,000 fans, and he was buoyed by the amount of support he got.

"I really didn't expect it [crowd support]," Hernandez said. "But I am very grateful with the people that live here in the U.S. that are always supporting us."

Hernandez also said that he was not getting carried away with his debut performance and would continue to work hard to become a better player.

"We have to take it step by step," he added. "I am very excited, very happy, but I take all of this with a lot of calm. What I want to do is a good job, so that more clubs like Manchester United can keep an eye on Mexican players."
