Man Utd's Fletcher joins Sunderland namesake in Scotland team

Scotland manager Craig Levein has recalled both Darren Fletcher and Steven Fletcher for upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Manchester United midfielder Fletcher will be given the opportunity to again lead the Scotland side when they take on Wales in Cardiff on October 12 and Belgium in Brussels four days later following a long absence due to a chronic bowel problem.

Sunderland striker Fletcher, who has scored five goals in four appearances since his summer switch from Wolves, had not been considered for the Scotland team after making himself unavailable via text at the start of last year but following a change of heart, the 25-year old has now been re-called by Levein.

The two Fletchers join fellow Premier League players Charlie Adam, Gary Caldwell, James McArthur and James Morrison in the Scotland squad who opened their qualifying for Brazil 2014 with two home draws against Serbia (0-0) and Macedonia (1-1) in September.
