Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has praised the performance of striker Wayne Rooney after he helped his side to a 3-1 win over Hull City overnight.
The England international scored in the first half of injury time at the KC Stadium before committing a mistake that lead to a Craig Fagan penalty just prior to the hour-mark that enabled the Tigers to equalise.
But Rooney turned his mistake around by forcing an Andy Dawson own goal and the setting up Dimitar Berbatov for the winner eight minutes from time and Ferguson was delighted he was able to turn the game around.
"He's been a threat all day to them, the penetration behind their back line was very good," Ferguson told Sky Sports 1.
"He made a mistake in giving the ball away for the goal, that was his one bad moment in the game, but I thought he was exceptionally good today.
"He's got that (desire), it's in-born in him, he'll never lose that.
"He's a natural winner, he's always had that great attitude and determination to do well and he would be even more sick than anyone when he made a mistake.
"He rectified it and everything's fine."
