Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Bordeaux boss Laurent Blanc is too young to coach a national team.
Blanc, who has been linked with the takeover of Ferguson's role once he leaves Old Trafford, played under the Scot at United and has also been touted to replace France coach Raymond Domenech.
Despite recent success in the French Ligue 1, winning last season's title with Bordeaux and guiding them to top spot in their Champions League group this season, Blanc should remain at club level for the time being according to Ferguson.
"I think he is too young to become a national team coach," Ferguson told Canal+.
"I think Laurent has a lot of things to do before taking this kind of role. This is his first season as a champion and managing his team in the Champions League.
"He should stay in Bordeaux."
