Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has congratulated Scott Parker for being named England captain for tonight's friendly with Holland.
The Tottenham midfielder has got the job for this fixture with caretaker manager Stuart Pearce handing him the armband after the Football Association stripped John Terry of the role earlier this month.
Ferdinand, who succeeded Terry as skipper last time the Chelsea man lost the job, was not selected for the squad by Pearce but still showed his support with a nice message to Parker on Twitter.
"Congrats to Scott Parker on being named captain for tonights game. A great honour + one I'm sure he'll cherish. 2-1 win I'm thinking!" Ferdinand posted.
