Patrice Evra says he would never celebrate with Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson the way Robin van Persie did on the weekend.

The Dutchman broke a 10-game scoring drought when he converted from the penalty spot in the 66th minute of United's 2-0 win at Stoke City and celebrated by jumping on Ferguson in a strong embrace.

But French left-back Evra says he would certainly not do the same whilst revealing that van Persie had copped some flak from the Red Devils players.

"No chance. Never," said Evra. "Maybe I will do it with my team-mates. But not with the gaffer. He is older.

"Imagine I go in too strong against him. He could fall, then he might sack me. I will never do that.

"Robin has had a lot of stick from us," added Evra. "It was nice. I could see a lot of love and emotion.

"It is the first time we saw that. Robin can tell you, for two or three days we have been getting at him. It is good to see love like that on the pitch sometimes."
