Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov has called time on his international career with Bulgaria.
The 29-year old all-time leading scorer for the Bulgarian team has decided to pull the pin on international football effective immediately.
"I am withdrawing from the Bulgarian national team, it was a difficult decision but I made it," he said.
"Sometimes you have to make the difficult ones. I thought about it enough, but everything has a beginning and an end and that is today."
Berbatov has won 74 caps with the national team, scoring 48 goals, but was disenchanted following the disappointing World Cup qualifying campaign.
