Man Utd ruthlessly expose Arsenal

A master-class in clinical finishing saw Manchester United come away from the Emirates Stadium with a 3-1 win over a shell shocked Arsenal. United are now just a point behind Chelsea having played a game more than the leaders and showed Arsenal just what it takes to be title contenders.

Wayne Rooney and the previously disappointing Nani produced a display of counter-attacking football that the Gunners had no answer to.

Nani opened the scoring just after the half hour helped by an error from Arsenal keeper Manuel Almunia who helped the wingers cross over the line.

Moments later the Portuguese international set up Wayne Rooney for his 100th Premier League goal as the Reds changed defence into attack in one devastating move.

Just after the break it was game over for Arsenal as Ji-Sung Park was allowed a free run on goal to make it three.

A late Thomas Vermaelen effort gave Arsenal belated hope but United comfortably held out.
