Manchester United have been rumbled as the English team in talks with Napoli attacker Dries Mertens.

Il Mattino says a move to United is being considered.

They say Mertens had a two-hour meeting with Red Devils representatives in a hotel lobby on Tuesday morning - the day of Napoli's Champions League defeat to Real Madrid.

Napoli have offered the attacker a new contract to keep him in Serie A but Mertens is stalling on their proposal.

Mertens has netted 23 goals and chipped in with six assists in all competitions.
