United boss Alex Ferguson believes the row over who owns the player is coming to a close and the Premier League champs can end the summer's most drawn-out transfer saga by sealing a £20million deal.
Tevez is desperate to move to Old Trafford, having turned down the chance of a switch to Serie A champions Inter Milan as soon as the transfer window opened.
United are understood to have agreed to pay a loan fee of £6m over the next two years with the option of buying Tevez outright for a total of £20m at the end of that agreement.
