Man Utd reunion with Real Madrid star Ronaldo rests on one factor

It appears the match made in heaven has dissipated into thin air.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United have no interest in bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford.

At 32, the Real Madrid superstar showed signs of ageing with a slow start to the season. But given his steely determination, Ronaldo has since scored eight goals in his last eight matches.

The Euro 2016 winner has been at odds with the Real hierarchy since Spanish authorities accused him of tax evasion last summer.

His dissatisfaction had naturally generated speculation of a return to United, where he spent six seasons before moving to Madrid in 2009.

However, it is believed United have now shifted their transfer policy to focusing on players for the future, with the signing of Zlatan Ibrahimovic marking the end of the club's veteran recruitment.

The only way Ronaldo will don the Red Devils jersey again is if they change this policy.
